Master of Mass Communication – WKWSCI

Our graduate studies by coursework programmes are designed for professionals in leadership positions across a wide range of industries and settings, including mass media, communications, information systems, business management, libraries, and the public sector.

The communication-related programmes train students to confront contemporary issues in media theory, research, policy, planning and management and to develop effective communications strategies and familiarize themselves with the complete range of current communications tools and how to use them in an integrated, strategic way.

The information-related programmes teach students to explore and analyse information needs within the organisational and social context, and utilise appropriate and effective strategies to address these needs.

Applicants seeking admission to the MMC Programme must have at least one of the following qualifications:

  • A good Bachelor's degree in communication studies or its equivalent from a recognised university, and at least one year of relevant working experience.
  • A good Bachelor's degree in other fields of study from a recognised university, and at least two years of relevant working experience.
  • In addition, foreign students from Universities whose medium of teaching is not in English, an English proficiency test e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, etc. is required.

There is one intake in the academic year and the closing dates for online application submission are as follows:

This full time programme can be completed in 12 months, while part time may complete the programme in 24 months. The Master of Mass Communication programme consists of 2 tracks, which students have to complete a total of 30 academic units:
