Graduate Diploma In Systems Analysis

Graduate Diploma In Systems Analysis

Programme Synopsis

The Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis programme is designed for graduates who recognise the need to equip themselves with the latest IT knowledge and skills, and wish to advance their careers in their current field. It also provides an opportunity for non-IT graduates in crafting a new career path in the IT industry.

In this 1-year FULL-TIME programme, students are taught how to built IT solutions through lectures, workshops, laboratory sessions, projects and industrial attachments. Students will also learn and practise the techniques taught to gather user requirements, systematically analyse and design feasible solutions; they will then move on to code, test and implement these solutions. The numerous projects in this programme give students many hands-on practices to deliver IT solutions covering client/server, internet/intranet and wireless platforms.

The programme emphasises building and enhancing essential soft skills such as project management qualities, independent/co-operative team working attitudes and effective team leader techniques. Students will be assigned to work in "*Project teams*" learning through "*on the job training*". By the end of the programme, students will have a good grasp of Object-Oriented analysis and design based on Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Unified Modelling Language (UML). They will also be introduced to Object-Oriented programming using C# .Net with Visual Studio IDE, Java. JSP (Java Server Script), EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) on J2EE. In addition, they will be proficient in building internet solutions using ASP.NET and Web Services and mobile solutions using Android platform and iOS platform.

Fees & Loans

Tuition Fee

The substantial tuition subsidy from the Government of Singapore comes in the form of a MOE subsidy which is administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and is offered to all admitted students up to the maximum course duration. Students need not apply for the MOE Subsidy if they are eligible.

Successful applicants (accepted into the programme) are required to pay the following fees:

Fees for Academic Year 2016 / 2017 (SA42 & SA43)

 Annual Tuition FeeMiscellaneous fee
Singapore Citizens $9,300 $558.48
Singapore PRs $13,000 $558.48
International Students with *service obligation (a) $19,800 $558.48
International Students without *service obligation (b) $36,200 $558.48

All fees are in Singapore dollars and are inclusive of GST.

For Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Resident students, the fee amounts quoted here are subsidised by the Singapore government (through the Ministry of Education, MOE) and are exclusive of prevailing GST. The applicable GST is subsidised by the MOE.

Fees are correct at time of posting and are subject to changes without prior notice.
The University reserves the right to alter the fees at any time without notice. Fees for subsequent years are under review.

Any queries about fees and payment, please email to

Explanatory notes below on service obligation applicable only to International Students

*As a self-financing student (i.e., paying tuition fees on your own), please note that you are eligible to apply for MOE Service Obligation Scheme, provided you have not previously enjoyed MOE subsidy in a graduate programme where the degree is of the same or lower level than what you have been offered here.

If your application for service obligation is successful, the tuition fees applicable to you will be as shown above under (a). You will however be charged the higher fee without MOE subsidy (b) on registration day and adjustments to the fees will be made if your application for service obligation is successful.

The service obligation will require you to work in Singapore-based companies for 3 years upon graduation. Singapore-based companies refer to local and international companies that have a base in Singapore that is registered with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) as well as companies of such local and international companies registered with ACRA that are based overseas.

Mandatory Miscellaneous Fees

Miscellaneous fees are typically levied on items that are either not covered or partially covered by tuition fee and grant/subsidy. All students, whether registered on a full-time or part-time basis, are charged the mandatory miscellaneous fees. These are due at the same time as the tuition fees. These fees help defray the costs of student activity, health services and insurance, campus shuttle service and other services.

Tuition Fee Loan

Students who require financing for their tuition fees may apply for a loan under the Tuition Fee Loan Scheme (TFL). The maximum loan quantum is 90% of the tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizens for the same course.
