Admission

The NUS MBA seeks individuals who have integrity, strong leadership capabilities and the desire to achieve academic and management excellence. In addition, we are looking for individuals who are mature, motivated, focused and wish to make a positive impact on business and society. Candidates must satisfy the followingentry requirements for the MBA programme.

  • Good Undergraduate Degree
    Applicants must have a strong academic record in any undergraduate field from a reputable academic institution. 
  • Work Experience
    Applicants must have a minimum of two years full-time postgraduate work experience. 
  • GMAT / GRE
    All applicants are required to take either the GMAT or GRE exam as they provide us with a standardised way of evaluating candidates. We do not have a minimum score required for admission as standardised tests are just one of several admission criteria. A high score does not guarantee admission, and a below average score does not eliminate a candidate. Scores may be self-reported; however, should you receive an offer of admission, official scores will then be requested for verification. 
  • TOEFL / IELTS / PTE
    Applicants whose undergraduate degree was not in English are required to submit TOEFL / IELTS / PTE scores. The TOEFL code for NUS is 9082 Department Code 02. The IELTS code for NUS is 0677. Visit TOEFL or IELTS for more information.

    • TOEFL - Minimum score of 100 for internet-based test.
    • IELTS - Minimum score of 6.5.
    • PTE - Minimum score of 68.
  • Referee Reports
    Two referee reports are required to complete your application. The two referees can be your current employer, previous employer or corporate client.

    In the online application system, you are required to provide contact information about your referees. This information is important as it allows us to contact your referees. The email will contain information on how to access and submit the online referee report. Under the online application system, you could also initiate to send out the online referee form to your two referees before you complete your online application. The online referee form will only be valid for two weeks after you initiate to send out.

    Two referee reports have to be submitted within the application deadlines.

Interview

Short-listed applicants will be interviewed and may be required to take further evaluation tests if deemed necessary.

 

Course Outline 

Programme Structure

The NUS MBA programme requirements are as follows:

  • 8 full modules and 4 half modules equivalent to 40 core Modular Credits (MCs)
  • Management Communication (Compulsory non-credit graduation requirement) 
  • Electives (28 MCs)
  • Total 68 MCs 

The NUS MBA programme is offered on both full-time and part-time basis. A typical full module comprises of 4 modular credits (MCs) and meets 3 hours a week for 14 weeks. A typical half module comprises of 2 MCs and meets 3 hours a week for 7 weeks.

Full-time MBA programme

Full-time MBA students complete their studies within 17 months. This schedule offers students with the opportunity to enrich their learning experience by spending a semester on student exchange and another semester on internship. Core module classes are generally held in the day while elective classes are generally held in the evenings.

Part-time MBA programme

The part-time NUS MBA programme allows working managers and professionals to upgrade their managerial skills and pursue further professional growth opportunities. Classes for part-time MBA students are held during weekday evenings and/or weekends.

 *Number of Modules is equivalent to a combination of full modules and half modules. Each academic year consists of two regular semesters and two optional Special Terms.

Class Timings and Schedule

MBA classes meet once a week per module during regular semesters and twice a week during special terms. The duration of each class during regular semesters is 3 hours. The duration for each class during special term is 3.5 hours.

Classes are held in the mornings (9.00am to 12.00pm), afternoons (12.00pm to 3.00pm and 3.00pm to 6.00pm) or evenings (6.00pm to 9.00pm). Part-time students would be given priority for core modules classes held in the evenings.

Round I: 01 October 2016 – 31 January 2017 (Scholarship Qualifying Period) 
Round II: 01 February 2017 – 31 March 2017

Part-Time NUS MBA Application Dates

The application window is from 01 October 2016 – 15 May 2017.  
Applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis; hence, applicants are encouraged to submit their application early.

Application Fees

Fees for 2017 Intake (Academic Year 2017-2018) 

 Full-time MBA:  SGD 62,000 payable over 2 semesters 

 Part-time MBA: SGD 62,000 payable over 4 semesters 

The above tuition fee applies to both Singapore Citizens / PRs and International students.

An acceptance fee of S$8,000 is payable upon acceptance of offer. This will be credited towards your tuition fees. Payment can be made online via credit card or by cheque.
